Cerebral palsy is a group of lifelong neurological disorders that primarily affect a person's ability to move and maintain balance and posture. It is the most common motor disability in childhood.
The initial brain injury that causes Cerebral Palsy does not get worse over time, though symptoms may change as a child grows. It results from abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain before, during, or shortly after birth. Symptoms range from mild (slight clumsiness) to severe (requiring 24-hour care or mobility equipment).
