Helping You Take Control of Your Well-Being

Holistic Consultation

Bringing balance back into your life in a meaningful way.

A holistic consultation involves a comprehensive analysis of your lifestyle habits and history to identify significant issues in your life. The objective is to aid in forming a detailed strategy aimed at attaining complete wellness and balance. In our fast-moving world, achieving this requires a well-rounded approach that includes the mind, body, and spirit. This holistic methodology focuses on the entirety of a person, addressing both physical health and emotional wellness by fostering a more balanced way of living and an enhanced overall state of harmony.

What to Expect During a Holistic Consultation

Intake & Review

An in-depth intake assessment will be performed, where you will discuss your entire health history, including current symptoms and how they have evolved. During the lifestyle review, you will be asked detailed questions about your diet, exercise habits, sleep patterns, stress levels and even your social relationships or spiritual beliefs.

Collaborative Goal Setting

We collaborate together to establish immediate and also well-defined long-term health goals to meet your specific wellness objectives. The client - therapist relationship is based on transparent communication and mutual respect, ensuring both sides are aligned with the objectives and methods for your optimal health outcomes.

Personalized Action Plan

You will obtain a personalized action plan that will feature a thoughtfully designed blend of lifestyle changes and complementary therapies tailored to suit your unique needs and preferences. This customized strategy focuses on improving your overall health and helping you attain the best outcomes in your quest for improved well-being.

Six Reasons for a Personal Holistic Consultation

  1. Root Cause Focus: Intends to resolve the underlying issue rather than just masking symptoms with "band-aid" solutions.

  2. Personal Empowerment: You move from being a passive recipient of care to an active role and responsibility for your own healing process. Consultations include detailed and comprehensive education, giving you the tools and motivation to make positive changes for your overall long-term health and well-being.

  3. Chronic Condition Management:  A holistic approach is particularly effective for complex, recurring issues like autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, and digestive problems that haven't responded well to standard care.

  4. Mind-Body Integration: Emotional stress can manifest as physical pain and other health issues. Addressing mental well-being often leads to direct improvements in physical symptoms, like reduced chronic pain or better digestion.

  5. May Reduce Drug Dependency: By focusing on changes to your daily habits and including natural remedies and therapies, may reduce dependence on drugs and their associated side effects.

  6. Preventative Approach: Focuses on maintaining balance and to lay a foundation for overall vitality, helping to prevent the emergence of future health concerns before they develop and become serious.

Preparing for Your Initial Holistic Consultation

So that all bases get covered and nothing is overlooked, I may ask a lot of questions to understand you better and to gain comprehensive insights into your health and well-being. I highly recommend that to get the most out of your initial holistic consultation, arriving well-prepared helps us see the full picture of your health journey. Being ready with your health history and any specific concerns will greatly enhance our time together. Here are some recommendations to consider:

1. Document Your "Health Story": Instead of listing symptoms, consider the timeline.

  • Trace the Origin: When did you last feel healthy? Did your issues begin after a specific event (stress, illness, or injury)?

  • Identify Patterns: Note when symptoms worsen. Does back pain increase after certain foods, or does anxiety spike at a particular time?

2. Conduct a "Cabinet Audit": It is essential to be aware of the medications and supplements you are currently using, as this information is vital for assessing any potential interactions with the suggestions provided by your holistic practitioner.

  • Make a Comprehensive List: List all prescriptions, OTC medications, vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements (with dosages).

  • Recent Lab Results: If you have available you are welcome to bring along to your session.

3. Recommend to Track Your Lifestyle for 3 Days: Data is more helpful than memory. Keep a brief log for a few days prior:

  • Diet: What are you actually eating and drinking (including caffeine and alcohol)?

  • Sleep: How many hours are you getting, and do you wake up feeling rested?

  • Energy Levels: Rate your energy on a scale of 1–10 at morning, noon, and night.

  • Exercise: What type of exercise? How many hours per week?

4. Define Your "Why" and Goals: Be specific about what "wellness" looks like to you.

  • Functional Goals: Instead of saying "I want to feel better," try "I want enough energy to play with my kids after work" or "I want to stop relying on ibuprofen for my headaches."

  • Openness: Be ready to discuss things you might not usually share with a doctor, such as your stress levels at home, your relationship with food, or your spiritual practices.

5. Other Logistics

  • Complete Intake Form: If you are a first time time client please bring a printed copy to your first session. Note that some of the above questions may be already asked in this form. Click here for Intake Form

  • Complete Bach Flower Remedies Questionnaire (optional): Only complete this questionnaire only if interested a Personal Bach Flower Blend. Click here for Questionaire

  • Comfortable Clothing: You may receive a therapy session on your first visit and its recommended to wear comfortable clothing.

Follow-up Sessions

Getting ready for a follow-up session varies from the first meeting since the emphasis changes from discovery to monitoring and adjustment. It involves being honest about what was effective and what wasn't, allowing the practitioner to adjust your strategy. Below are aspects to think about and anticipate in follow-up sessions.

1. The "Progress Audit": Don't just focus on how you feel the morning of your appointment; reflect on the weeks since your last visit.

  • The 20% Rule: Did you feel at least 20% better in any area (e.g., sleep, digestion, pain)?  No matter how incremental it may seem, small wins reinforce the importance of progress.

  • Identify Hurdles: Be ready to discuss what was hard to stick to and where you may be struggling. Your plan can be adjusted to fit your reality.

2. Track "New" or "Shifting" Symptoms: Sometimes, as one layer of an issue heals, another appears.

  • Healing Reactions: Did you experience any "detox" symptoms like mild headaches or fatigue after starting a new supplement or therapy?

  • New Observations: Did you notice any benefits or unexpected benefits so far? These benefits help confirm you're on the right track.

3. Review Your Protocol

  • Supplement/Remedy Check: Are you running low on anything? Do you feel any specific supplement is making a noticeable difference (or causing nausea)?

  • Frequency Logs: If you were doing specific recommendations such as stretches or self-help protocols, how many times a week did you actually do them? Accuracy helps the practitioner to better evaluate and adjust your plan accordingly.

4. Update Your Goals

  • Phase 2 Thinking: Now that the initial crisis or "flare-up" might be settling, what is the next level of health you want to reach?

  • Refined Questions: Bring 2–3 specific questions based on your research or experience since the first visit.

Holistic healing is rarely a "quick fix" and depending on the issue it may often take a month or so to notice significant shifts as the body addresses root imbalances rather than just masking symptoms. This is a key consideration when embarking on a holistic health journey. Unlike conventional medicine, holistic care is a long-term active participation on your part that directly impacts the outcomes you wish to achieve.
